INTRODUCTION
The power of media is an important factor in solving a variety of social issues. To maximize this power, media consumers need to work together to more responsibly select what we consume. Seeking fundamental solutions to climate change, we are working to build bridges between media, citizens, companies, and all other stakeholders to co-create impactful relationships that can support responsible media and society.

What we offer
Supporting an increase in climate change coverage and content As citizens, viewers and readers, we emphatically express our desire for coverage of and content related to climate change. We are backing up this desire by supporting and assisting media professionals already working hard to increase coverage of climate change issues.
Launch of the Climate Media Initiative The Climate Media Initiative is a platform where media professionals committed to progressive reporting about climate change can exchange ideas and collaborate. This helps stakeholders such as climate change experts, media researchers, youth and civil society groups share the latest climate change information. We have already secured the participation of many media professionals including newspapers, TV, magazines, radio, and online media. We are gathering knowledge (information, documentation, images, and materials) and organizing strategic campaigns that can lead to concrete behavioral change and inspire collaborative projects across media.
We provide the following media support
After graduating from college, I started working for an entertainment company, which had been my dream since childhood. During my five years there, I have gained experience in event planning, working with VIPs, and training new employees. In 2019, I began to ponder the meaning of true happiness and abundance, which led to my leaving the company. After that, I became a social worker to provide direct social support. At the same time, I am working hard to create new value, build social systems, and fundamentally reform society to solve climate change with the communication skills and creative ideas I developed in my previous position. At Media is Hope, I am mainly in charge of external communication and brand strategy.
I have been interested in environmental issues since 6th grade, when the Kyoto Protocol was taking center stage, and went on to major in environmental studies in college. However, dismayed at the staggering gap between reality and ideal, for a while I gave up on that path. After that, while working as a producer for TV commercials and in branding with a creative agency, I became a father of two, which rekindled my interest in climate change. Currently, while working for a project management company, I am mapping out an epic journey to solve climate change from all perspectives and angles. At Media is Hope, I am mainly in charge of external communications and business strategy.
In college, I joined a group promoting fair trade, with activities focused particularly on fashion and a sustainable future. After graduation, I built a career in the fashion and media industry. I moved to New York in 2017, where I worked as a model, writer, and collaborator with brands. I was amazed by the high level of interest among New Yorkers in social issues, which fed my own growing interest even more. I am now a communicator working to connect my career with social issues, especially climate change and human rights. My main role in Media is Hope is international development and public relations.
The BLM movement in 2020 sparked my interest in social issues, and I began to post information on Social Media while independently studying design. I am currently studying public relations and design at a graduate school in Poland, while also working as a copywriter. I have been using my professional and creative skills to support Media is Hope's activities as a visual designer since its early days. As a certified leader of Climate Reality led by US Vice President Gore, I am also a versatile user of TikTok and Instagram - a member of Gen Z staying on the cutting edge of the Social Media era!
With a wide range of experience and knowledge from fundraising for a humanitarian NGO, community development consulting, and Community Organizing Japan NPO, I serve as auditor and adviser for Media is Hope. I have been supporting the team at critical phases from a third-party perspective and as a mentor. Currently enrolled in the Graduate School of Business (MBA program) at Tokyo Metropolitan University from 2022 to study marketing and business management of non-profit organizations for the creation of a sustainable society.

Media is Hope is a new type of climate movement. The general lack of interest in climate change in Japan comes from the media's lack of coverage - as is widely acknowledged.
Media is Hope is approaching this issue via a deep analysis of the reasons for this shortage of media attention. In addition to demanding change from the media, we’re cultivating relationships with viewers as well. It’s a fresh approach – one that inspires me to participate in building these new relationships alongside them."

Media is Hope.
I ask myself if I can truly and proudly say that it is actually a ‘hope’
I told the high school students where I graduated in my hometown that the time limit on climate change is approaching, but some said that if I only incite the fear of crisis, the young people will just give up and not take real action. Also others said that I should convey not only the positive aspects of renewable energy but also the challenges. How should we communicate this to them? I sincerely support the activities of Media is Hope, which is trying to have sincere discussions together and lead to action on how to create hope!"

Seven years have passed since the 2015 Paris Agreement. The phase of some experts sounding the alarm, some pioneering companies acting, and some activists protesting is over. To avert the climate crisis and save the planet, all companies, large and small, all industries, and all people, young and old, must all act. The power of the media is extremely important for this purpose, and I share the objectives of Media is Hope and have high expectations for its future activities.

In order to solve climate change, I am convinced that the most important thing is for everyone to become more tolerant, to recognize and respect each other, and to work together to change the economy, society, and the environment, all while looking toward the same future.
It would be a great success story if the media, who have been engaged in “communication” for many years, could work together with the citizens to change their consciousness and lead the future in a wonderful direction! Let's create such a great future together!

It is not only the media that makes the media. There are things that we – the viewers and readers – can do. The only way to solve the major social issue of climate change is for everyone to transcend their own positions and build a co-creative relationship. Please join us.
"We, Media is Hope,
will be the starting point for building collaborative relationships
between media and audience, and many of the stakeholders,
to build a society that can solve climate change.
As an organization that works with and supports the media,
we will become the bridge between various stakeholders
in the climate change issue and will build a platform to connect each other.
In order to solve climate change, each and every one of us must aim for a better society.
We need a continuous mechanism and social system that enables us to
think and practice what we can leave for the future.
We want to contribute to the challenge of solving climate change
and to create a better society at the same time,
not only with the media and citizens but also with various stakeholders.
