Media is Hope AWARD is an award that recognizes the achievements of media/journalists who contribute to solving social issues such as climate change and SDGs, and prized by MEDIA IS HOPE Inc.
It is not easy to keep covering social issues such as climate change and SDGs in the media.
We at MEDIA IS HOPE Inc. believe that people outside the media, such as viewers/readers, need to support media and journalists who work hard to address issues, and this award is part of that effort.
Media is Hope AWARD 2024 Ceremony Will Be Held on Friday, August 23rd, 2024!
At this event, we will focus on the thoughts and feelings of those who are active in the media, which are not usually delivered to the audience. We will also be hearing about the thoughts and challenges they put into their daily reporting and the contents they produce, as well as the challenges of climate change reporting, which differ from one media to another!

MEDIA IS HOPE Inc. is an organization that provides various support to strengthen the media coverage of climate change, based on the belief that correct knowledge of climate change is the first step to create a common awareness in Japan and to promote behavioral change in order to realize a society that can solve climate change. With the vision of “media creators and consumers alike taking responsibility for cultivating fair and impartial free media and a sustainable society”, the organization serves as a bridge for media, citizens, corporations, and all stakeholders to build a co-creative relationship in order to achieve essential solutions to climate change.

MEDIA IS HOPE Inc. also provide spaces for various stakeholders to connect and co-create, such as by hosting the Climate Change Media Symposium, where media professionals, international organizations such as the United Nations, experts, practitioners, citizens and young people discuss the type of reporting required to solve climate change, and “Let’s Make It Together! Renewable Energy Day” supported by the Ministry of the Environment.
